Tonight at "Chez Meeow"....

...zucchini-feta quiche with parmesan-provencal herbs-crust...

Hey sweeties...
yesterday was quiche-time at "Chez Meeow" - and I tried a very easy and delicious vegetarian quiche. Pat was delighted and wanted a second serving ... ^^ (and he is an abolutely carnivorous plant ;) )
so you need the following ingredients:

for the pastry:
♥ 130 g flour
♥  40 g parmesan, fine grated
♥ 1/2 tsp salt
♥ 65 g soft butter
♥ 1 Egg
♥ herbs of the provence

for the filling:
♥ 1 Zucchini (approx. 300 g)
♥ 1 clove garlic
♥ 1 package Feta
♥ 2 eggs
♥ a handfull of sunflower seeds
♥ 40 g parmesan, fine grated
♥ 100 g sourcream
♥ some olive oil
♥ salt, pepper, herbs of the provence for seasoning

For the pastry put all ingredients together, form a ball, wrap it in clingfilm and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
In the meantime cut the zucchini in lenghtways quarters and cut up into slices. Chop the garlic in fine pieces.
brown them in a pan in some olive oil...
and let it cool down a bit....
Then its time for the pastry - roll it out to a thin dough and put it in a tarte-pan - you dont need adding fat to the pan.
press the dough tightly into the pan and let it bake for 20 minutes at preheated oven at 170° C until the ground is browned.
Meanwhile you repare the filling... Seperate the egg yolk from the egg white. Mix the egg yolks, sour cream, sunflower seeds, the zucchini slices and the fine cubed feta, season it with salt, pepper and herbs de provence. Beat the egg white until its whipped and put it under the mixture.
Fill it into the tarte-pan and top it with parmesan...
Bake it for 20 minutes at 170° C until its golden brown...
serve it with green salad...
om nom nom ... bon appetit ;)

Tim Burton ♥

...or: Meeow attended the Tim Burton exposition at the cinematheque francaise in Paris

Hey sweeties,

as I pre-announced I visited the Tim Burton exposition when I was in Paris last week - The exhibition was at the cinematheque francaise in Paris and it was great and so inspiring.
After we waited more than an hour in the waiting queue and directly in the hot noonday sun, Pat and I were totally glad when we went in there...
Unfortunately taking pictures wasn't allowed so I can show you nothing but the pics from the outdoor area...
darkened doors.... and beyond them a mass of Tim Burton's artworks....
The museum accomodated two little shops where Tim Burton stuff was sold... I planned to buy the big big artbook of Tim Burtons works in english - but it was sold out - so I decided to buy it in the french version - it's okay - I am trying to improve my knowledge of french so thats the classiest way to learn better french :D
a lot of Tim Burton stuff... Pins, Magnetpins, the artbook, posters and postcards....
Posters for our home.... I've ever wanted an Edward Scissorhands poster  ♥
the object of my desire... L'art de Tim Burton ♥
I love this big big artbook full with drawings and informations - I am so glad that I've spend nearly 50 Euros for that book - but if I didn't bought it, I would drive home with a sad face ;)
Vincent :)
Sweeney Todd
do you recognize him?
Lydia :)
haha... congenial to my Paris-trip :D
I recommend that book to all Tim Burton fans - its a bit expensive, but with more than 1000 illustrations and 430 pages (partially with big fold-out pages) it's worth its price! ♥

so... now its time for me to learn more french by reading this book ;)

Paris...mon amour!

...tu me manques!

Hey sweeties -
I am back from a beautiful trip to the city of love... and i fell in love with Paris! I love the old places, the flair, the little cafés ... and I met a lot of nice people there (*wave* Karine and David) and I polished up my knowledge of French - (it gives me incentive to speak french better soon!

Our hotel was in Malakoff, a suburb of Paris - and it was very pretty and comfortable and the Metro was within easy reach - the staff there was so nice and helpful and we will return the next time we visit Paris.

We've seen a lot of places like the Eiffeltower, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Pont Neuf, Tour Montparnasse, Grand Palais, la cinematheque francais (to see the Tim Burton exposition), Marais, Montmartre, Ile de la cité and so much more. We enjoyed the good food in the little cozy restaurants and tried french beer. And on our last evening we visited "The black dog" a metal bar (thanks a lot to Sandrine from Blood is the new Black for the great trip-tips by the way  ♥) - it was such a nice evening with new friends and a lot of cider for me - in the night we sank drunk in our hotel bed

I am totally sure, that it wasn't the last time for me to stay in Paris for some days... JE REVIENS!

And now - here are some expressions for you:
